How To Add External RDS With a VP-8
The VP-8 product does not offer its own built-in RDS capabilities. You must use an external RDS generator and all of the song title/artist data will have pass through that encoder from the automation or playout system.
Use one of the the VP-8's SCA inputs on the rear panel for the RDS generator output and feed TX-2 in the "Pilot Only" mode to the RDS generator for its 19kHz sync.
