Disable Windows 11 Smart App Control
Microsoft has introduced a new "feature" called Smart App Control in Windows 11.
When you install a program, Windows 11 will use AI to check to see if the components in the installer are trusted and signed.
While Wheatstone Corporation signs its drivers with a trusted authority, our installation base is much smaller than a product like Adobe Audition or similar mass market software, so Windows 11 Smart App Control will block parts of our installers and uninstallers and prevent them from working properly because their AI system hasn't seen it installed very often.
Therefore, we recommend that you turn off Smart App Control on workstations before you go to install the WheatNet-IP Driver. Here's how:
In the Windows Search bar, type "Smart app control"
Open the link that appears.
Turn it off. There is no save or apply button.
