Important Update for LXE Engine Owners ā WYPY CPU Upgrade Kit Now Available
At Wheatstone, we pride ourselves on delivering industry-leading reliability and performance. However, we recognize that the Jetway CPUs used in some LXE engines have not consistently met the high standards we set for our products. These components have presented both long-term reliability challenges and supply chain uncertainties, prompting us to develop a robust solution.
Introducing the WYPY CPU Upgrade Kit
To address these concerns, we have engineered the new WYPY CPU card as a direct replacement for the Jetway CPU. Built on the proven ARM architecture we've successfully used in other products, this drop-in replacement offers enhanced performance, improved reliability, and long-term support.
Key Benefits:
Seamless Upgrade: Field-upgradeable kit includes all necessary hardware and software, allowing for quick and easy replacement.
Optimized Performance: Built on ARM technology for greater processing power and efficiency.
Data Integrity: Transfer existing LXE engine configurations to the new WYPY CPU via GUI, minimizing downtime.
Future-Proofed: All new LXE engines are now shipping with the WYPY CPU as standard, ensuring ongoing support.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What kinds of LXE consoles need this upgrade kit?
A: Any LXE (Glass LXE or physical hardware console) running a Blade 3 LXE Console Engine. The console CPU is inside the Blade 3 chassis. If your LXE runs on a Blade 4, you do not need this kit because the Blade 4 LXE Console Engine uses the same CPU as in the upgrade kit.
Q: What is the cost of the kit?
A: $475, available directly from Wheatstone for customers inside the US. Outside the US, contact your local dealer for pricing and to order. We will offer free replacements for Jetway CPUs that fail within the first 2 years after shipping.
Q: I don't want to do this today. How can I prepare to upgrade later?
A: Download the new LXE setup GUI, which is version 3.3.9 or higher. Update your console to the new version and use the setup GUI to make a backup of your console now. Whenever you make changes to your console, take a backup to your PC. This backup file is needed when installing the new CPU to ensure that all of your settings move to the new CPU, and it's a lot easier to take the backup now before the CPU becomes unreliable.
Q: How long does the update take?
A: About 10 to 20 minutes. The only tool you'll need is a screwdriver. Make sure you've taken a backup using the new setup GUI before you take anything apart so all of your settings transfer over. The instructions are
