Solving Keylok USB Security Key Issues in Windows 11
Keylok Driver Update
If your Windows 11 PC does not find the Keylok USB key (it will show up as unknown in the Windows Device Manager and the license will not validate) do the following:
- Go to the Keylok Website and download Install.exe from their support page. This is their latest release.
- Follow the instructions of the setup wizard; it will prompt you when it is time to insert the dongle.
- When prompted for Dongle Type, check KEYLOK 2 (USB w/Driver). When prompted for Installation Type, select Standalone.
- After installation, the license will validate. If it doesn't, read on to the next section.
Windows Memory Integrity
In Windows 11, Windows Memory Integrity can prevent the Keylok driver
from loading. If this happens, even with the latest Keylok driver
installed, the USB key will have a caution sign in device manager and
Windows will throw a pop-up saying a security setting prevented a driver
from loading. To fix go to Windows Security, then go to Core Isolation,
and turn Memory Integrity off. Reboot. The driver will load.
