MAC Address Could Not Be Read Error

MAC Address Could Not Be Read Error

If you receive this error when attempting to install and run a WheatNet-IP AoIP driver, it means that the IP address and/or MAC address of the ethernet adapter you are attempting to use isn't matching what Navigator already expects to see from that driver.

You have most likely changed something on the ethernet adapter or it's pointing to the wrong NIC on your computer. When you run the driver configurator, listed in your Windows programs as "Configure WheatNet IP driver," look at the top section:

Ensure that the NIC listed is the one associated with the Blade ID you are using and that the NIC is connected to the WheatNet-IP network. Check connectivity to one of your blades by using the "ping" command from a command prompt.

If you have changed NICs from the one originally used for this Blade ID, you may find an "inactive" blade in Navigator (these show up at the bottom of the system tree) with that Blade ID. The system won't let the software blade join because it doesn't recognize the MAC address (you have changed NICs so the MAC is different). In this case you can try right-clicking on the inactive blade and remove it from the system, then reboot the computer with the driver and it should join the system. Note that it will come in as a brand new blade so any customizations you have made (such as renaming signals) will be lost.
