Getting a Navigator License

With a few exceptions, Navigator is fully functional without being licensed. However, the software will nag you to obtain a
license key and you won be able to update your Blade software, until Navigator is licensed. We recommend that before
Navigator is installed, network the Navigator PC with your WheatNet-IP (WNIP) system. This requires setting the PC to an
available fixed IP address on the WNIP subnet. We suggest 192.168.87.21 or .22, on systems using the factory-set subnet of
192.168.87.0
- When Navigator-3 first starts there will be a Login popup. Click OK to continue since no password is assigned by default.
- When Navigator-3 is run without a license you ll also get a You must register this product popup (shown at right). To start the process to get a Navigator
license, click Obtain a License Key to open a new popup listing the Seed ID text string which Wheatstone Technical Support uses to license Navigator on that PC.
In this popup, shown at left, verify the NIC connected to your WNIP system is listed in Select a NIC card to bind your license to. If it s not correct, click the down arrow to select the correct NIC and update your Seed ID. Click Copy Seed To Clipboard to copy the Seed ID to paste it into an email. If email is not available on that PC, click on Append Seed To Text File to save the Seed ID, in a small text file, which can then be copied to a USB
thumb drive and moved to a PC with email. A File Save dialog box opens on the Navigator Bin folder (shown below). Change to save the file to the Documents folder, so it ll be easy to find, then click Save.
Email the Seed ID to techsupport@wheatstone.com. Do not send a screen capture of the Seed ID since that cannot be used to generate a license. In this
email include your Navigator proof-of-purchase. This can be the Wheatstone ref # used to email the Navigator download link, your Navigator sales or
purchase order number, or a serial number from any Blade-3 hardware or associated equipment. Once your Navigator purchase is verified, we ll reply to
your email with your license key file, a small text-only file. When you receive your license key file, if Navigator is in-use, click on Navigator's About button to open the About window (shown below). Click on
Request License to open the You must register this product popup (shown in step 2). Click on Enter a License Key to open the License Key popup window,
shown below, right.
Copy and paste ALL TEXT from the license key file, or just drag the file icon, into the window s entry box, which populates with the license key file s text. Click OK to close that popup. You should immediately see a Thank You pop-up.
Navigator is now licensed.
