A radio engineer writes:
I was told the RJ45 analog and digital outputs on the M4 blade were destinations 1 thru 4 and thus were the same set of signals. But, it looks like the four analog outs are destinations 1 thru 4 but the digital outs are copies of the USB outs. Is it possible to have the RJ45 analog outs and digital outs be destinations 1 thru 4? A setting I’m missing or something. Copying the USB outs to RJ45 digital outs doesn’t help me. I was hoping to get my mic outputs in digital form.
Prior to adding USB connectivity the analog and AES outputs did mirror one another. Adding the USB I/O changed these connections, but you can use the front panel controls to connect the four mic processors to the four AES outputs. The sources are called M4 A – D and the physical AES outputs are listed in the destination list.
On the M4IPUSB, the digital output destinations are shared with the USB output destinations. (AES out 1 is the same as USB A, AES out 2 is the same as USB B, and so on.
