Unlike the WDM driver, ASIO drivers don’t show up in the Windows Control Panel. When someone can’t use the ASIO driver with an application, how can you verify the driver was installed correctly?
If this tester works but the software doesn’t, then the problem is with settings in the software app and not the driver.
Download the ASIO Driver Tester. There is a 32-bit and 64-bit version that corresponds to the OS. This is freeware from VB-Audio.
Run the application. Select the driver channel by clicking ASIO Device in the menu. You can tell the app is working if the buffer increments.
By default, it should start playing tone out the driver channel (if not, go under Test and choose the sine wave/level you want). Route the channel to a console fader or blade output. If the tone plays out of a blade/console, you have confirmed operation of the driver.
You will see all 24 driver channels, but you will only be able to choose the channel numbers that have been licensed (and the license has validated).
