The AUDIOARTS R-55 and R-55e are, for operational intents and purposes, the exact same console. The 55e was built out of necessity to utilize a different power supply. Both consoles uses the same DB-25 multipin connectors for audio and logic I/O. This console featured quad mic preamps, and optional superphone, line select, and tape remote modules optional.
